There are a number of iconic Dylan images based on photos
from the 60's. This was based on a Freevector.com image
(copyright creative commons) that was itself based on the
image of Dylan that appears on the cover of Tarantula.

The concept for this painting emerged from a series of drawings
in which a Dali image served as catalyst. The Dali image is
of a mask that has two or three long boards projecting through
the left eye socket. It seemed to me that the boards to become
a spear of light, hence this evolved to be my second iteration
of The Man Who Knew Too Much.

The De Chirico-like skewing of perspective is of a piece with
altered realities and surrealistic dreams.
