Mingus
Picture of the Day
Mingus
Giclee reproduction, 16" x 20"
I painted the original "Mingus" last summer, 24" x 36" on masonite panel. Prints of this version, with the Mingus script on the lower left of the white margin, are produced using the highest quality giclee technology and are currently for sale, unframed, for $95. The size is just right for nearly any sized room. The original is one of my favorite works of 2010.

Desolation Row
Picture of the Day
Desolation Row
Acrylic on paper, 14" x 20"
In 2007 I was making quick paintings while listening to songs, the duration of the painting being the length of one song. The piece Desolation Row was a departure from this in that one year later I painted a second layer of the painting over the first, to the music of Dylan's Desolation Row, and for the duration of a single playing once more. This piece is the result.
